Dental Implants

A dental implant is a metal device designed to replace missing teeth. The device is usually made out of titanium and is surgically placed into the jawbone where the tooth is missing. A dental implant is designed to act as the tooth root and can anchor an artificial tooth or teeth such as a crown, bridge, or denture. We consider implants to be like bionic teeth and are very strong.

Implants

What is the procedure?

  • The dentist evaluates your oral health and bone structure using X-rays or 3D scans.
  • A treatment plan is created based on your specific needs.
  • A titanium post is surgically placed into the jawbone.
  • Healing time: 3-6 months (the bone fuses with the implant in a process called osseointegration).
  • Once healed, a small connector (abutment) is attached to the implant.
  • This step ensures a secure foundation for the crown or denture.
  • A custom-made dental crown, bridge, or denture is placed on the abutment.
  • The result is a fully functional, natural-looking tooth replacement!
  • Single Tooth Implant – Replaces one missing tooth with a crown.
  • Implant-Supported Bridge – Used when multiple teeth in a row are missing.
  • All-on-4 or All-on-6 Implants – Full arch restoration for replacing all upper or lower teeth with just 4-6 implants.

With proper care, implants can last a lifetime, while the crown may need replacement every 10-15 years.

✅ Brush & floss daily, just like natural teeth.
✅ Avoid smoking, as it can affect healing and longevity.
✅ Visit your dentist regularly for checkups and cleanings.
✅ Avoid biting hard objects (ice, pens) to protect the crown.
